Parade will go north on Huron to Central Ave, west on Central Ave to Nicolet Street and Indian Pathways Park.

Create an Outhouse or register to a team race one of ours. Join in the Outhouse Races Saturday at 2pm on the Shepler Lot located on Huron Ave and Central Ave next to the Dixie Saloon and Oreilly's Irish Pub. This novelty event starts with the parade of outhouses which proves to be colorful and entertaining. Prizes vary but judging for "Best of Show" has to do with design, decor and team theme or "just because". The races are open to adult and junior teams. This year the prize money is sponsored by area businesses. Rules are as follows: The outhouse must be 4x4x6 on skis. Must have a 5 person team, one inside and 4 outside to push or pull. Must have a toilet seat. Must have material to wipe with. Entry must have a name. Entrants under 18 must have a parent's signature and all teams/participants must sign a waiver. This event is coordinated by the Dixie Saloon and friends. The purse will be $1000.00 this year for first place. THIS IS NOT A RACE!! The Zoo-de-Mackinac is a collection of outdoor enthusiasts (2,200+ last year) who want to enjoy a little physical exercise together in one of the most beautiful areas in the state of Michigan. The bike ride starts Saturday morning at Boyne Highlands Resort and spans 51 miles along Lake Michigan on a paved road with very little automobile traffic. Riders pedal through rolling countryside and trillium covered forests, along sandy beaches, and are surrounded by breathtaking views of Lake Michigan from 400' high bluffs. We stop approximately half way, at a unique place called the Legs Inn for a leisurely lunch and to swap stories. The ride continues on to Mackinaw City, where Arnold Ferry boats have been chartered for the ride over to Mackinac Island. As the evening wears on, the island comes alive with The Gatehouse (formerly The French Outpost), Pink Pony, and Horns hosting post ride parties with incredible live bands!

Memorial Weekend Pageant

During this weekend in Mackinaw City: Over 400 cast members will re-create events that took place between the French, British and Indian tribes, on June 2, 1763. This historically rich event will take place for the 50th consecutive year. The Fort Michilimackinac Pageant is the longest running, free historical Memorial Day performance in the Nation. Visitors will meet famous Indian Chiefs: Miniavavan and Matchekewis of the Ojibwa tribe, and Wawatam who becomes a blood brother to Alexander Henry and later saves his life.

Memorial Day Observance

A brief and informal Memorial Day observance at Fort Mackinac Post Cemetery on Mackinac Island, to pay tribute to the soldiers who served at Fort Mackinac. Soldiers will assemble at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Mackinac. They will march to the cemetery, perform a short ceremony and salute, and return to the fort. Open to the public.

Big Mac Shoreline Spring Scenic Bike Tour

Join us in Mackinaw City for a one of a kind bike tour! This tour has become a tradition for many bikers in Michigan and surrounding states. On Saturday, June 7th; over 400 participants celebrate a 25, 50, 75 or 100 mile bike tour along the shores of Lake Michigan. The routes are clearly marked and a number of rest areas dot the course. SAG Safety Wagons also circle the route to ensure safety for riders.

The Saturday tour begins at the Mackinaw City Recreation Center. Participants depart between 7:00a.m. to 10:00 a.m. depending on route taken. Registration fee includes tour. Registration is at the Mackinaw City Recreation Center: Friday from 1:00pm. to 8:00pm. and Saturday, June 7th from 7:00a.m. to 10:00 a.m. For the most breathtaking ride of the season, complete the weekend with a tour across the Mackinac Bridge on Sunday, June 8th. The tour begins promptly at 7:00a.m. from Fort Michilimackinac parking lot. This is a one way tour. Bikers continue to the Arnold Mackinac Island Ferry Dock in St.Ignace and are transported back to Mackinaw City. ONLY 400 RIDERS ARE ALLOWED FOR THE BRIDGE RIDE, SO ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. YOU MUST BE 13 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT, AND ALL RIDERS MUST WEAR HELMETS.

40th Annual St. Ignace Car Show - 5 miles from Mackinaw City

This internationally acclaimed event takes place Just 5 miles from Mackinaw City. This well known St. Ignace Car Show was formed in 1975 and the first show was held the last Saturday of June 1976. 134 vehicles were on display that year. The show continued to grow each and every year and by 2004, 2500 collector vehicles were on display with 100,000 spectators observing.

Skippers may choose to race north on Lake Huron from Port Huron, race the 235-mile Shore Line Course up the Michigan coastline or the 290-mile Southampton Course, which directs sailors toward Southampton Ontario, and then to the finish line at Mackinac Island. 107th Chicago to Mackinac Island Yacht Race - Mackinaw City

The Chicago Yacht Club is proud to have a longstanding tradition of yachting excellence. The Club's most famous event is the Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac, which is the longest annual freshwater sailing race in the world. The fastest boat on record came in at 23 hours, 30 minutes, and 34 seconds in 2002. Boats will pass under the Mackinac Bridge in Mackinaw City heading East. 57th Labor Day Bridge Walk

Join thousands of pedestrians as they participate in a long standing tradition, the LABOR DAY BRIDGE WALK. This event has been held every year since 1958. The walk begins at 7:00 a.m. on Labor Day and concludes at 11:00a.m. This is the only day of the year that walking the "Mighty Mac" is allowed

The Labor Day Bridge walk is recognized as "The World's Greatest Walking Event"! The walk brings over 70,000 people to the area. Buses are available for transportation to the North end of the bridge. Participants begin on the St. Ignace side of the bidge in the Upper Peninsula and walk south to Mackinaw City in the Lower Peninsula. At the finish line you are awarded a numbered certificate of completion. Make the LABOR DAY BRIDGE WALK a new tradition and join us in Mackinaw City this year. Big Mac Shoreline Scenic Bike Tour

Join us for a one of a kind bike tour that has become a tradition for many bikers in Michigan and in surrounding states. On Saturday, September 18th, over 300 participants celebrate a 25, 50, 75, or 100 mile bike tour along the shores of Lake Michigan. The routes are clearly marked and a number of rest areas dot the course. SAG Safety Wagons also circle the route to ensure safety for riders.

Join us in Mackinaw City for the most breathtaking ride of the season. The Saturday tour begins at the Mackinaw City Recreation Center. Participants depart between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. depending on route taken. Registration is held at the Recreation Center, Friday, September 12th from 1:00 pm. to 8:00 pm and Saturday, September 14th from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Complete the weekend with a tour across the Mackinac Bridge on Sunday, September 14th. The tour begins promptly at 7:00a.m. from the Fort Michilimackinac parking lot. This is a one way tour. Bikers continue to the Arnold Mackinac Island Ferry Dock in St.Ignace and are transported back to Mackinaw City. ONLY 400 RIDERS ARE ALLOWED FOR THE BRIDGE RIDE, SO ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. YOU MUST BE 13 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT, AND ALL RIDERS MUST WEAR HELMETS.

Hiking is one the more popular activities around French Farm Lake. During these hiking excursions, it is very common to see wildlife like deer, beaver, and the occasional bear among many other species. During the colder, snowy months of winter, these hiking trails are transformed and become some of the area's best cross country ski trails.

Fort Fright at Michilimackinac

Michilimackinac to Turn into "Fort Fright" October 9th and 10th, Colonial Michilimackinac will be transformed into a haunted habitat where werewolves, witches, and other legendary characters roam. Operating under the name "Fort Fright" for these two nights, the 18th-century fort and fur trading village will be open from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.

The characters that will be seen and talked about throughout the evening are drawn from a book called Were-Wolves and Will-o-the-Wisps: French Tales of Mackinac Retold, which was authored by Dirk Gringhuis and published by Mackinac State Historic Parks in 1974. "The book describes the best-known legends in French-Canadian folklore," explained Brisson, "like the man who can change into a wolf, the ghostly light known as will o' the wisp, and the good and bad goblins called lutins." Many of these legends spread to other countries, Brisson noted, and some are still believed in today-with a twist. "For instance, Gringuis' book tells us that black cats-now thought of as bringing bad luck-were originally considered the best of the good lutins." Priced at $6 a copy, the softbound Were-Wolves and Will-o-the-Wisps will be available for purchase at the Visitor's Center on the nights of the event.
