"Gorgeous view of the lake, clean rooms, friendly staff, and the best part: great view of the fireworks on Saturdays too! Very family friendly as well. They seem to be short-staffed so housekeeping takes place late in the day. We checked in at 4:30 pm and cleaning was in full swing, which may also cause odors in the hallways, but nothing offensive.We couldnt have been happier we chose this hotel and would gladly come back again."

"Rooms were clean. We checked in at 11:15am and went to the island. Receptionist said to come back after the island and get the keys. We got the keys at 5:00 and housekeeping was still cleaning the room. We had to wait another 30 minutes for housekeeping to finish."

"The room was perfect. I loved being on the balcony watching the water. My favorite part of the room is that it was quiet. I slept really well. The staff was amazing! My only complaint is the water park. Fix it or tear metal down. The empty pool is ugly and unsafe. I did enjoy the lazy river. Thank you!"

"Great location from Mackinaw City downtown and so nice that the hotel is right on the beach! Check in was very busy but everything went smoothly. The discount coupons the hotel gives you for the restaurants, putt putt and shops are worth it! The hotel could use a good sprucing up, a good power wash, cleaning and the room did feel a little grungy. But the room was spacious and accommodating. Balcony right on the water was so nice. It is pet friendly which is exactly what we were looking for, so convenient. The waterpark part was gone/non working however they had a nice pool and lazy river that my kids enjoyed. Customer service was great and very accommodating. Overall we had a nice stay!"

"Location and ease of check in and ferry access was great. I liked that we could open the first floor window but since there was no screen on the window, we didn\'t want to have it open. The AC unit was average for a window unit; the stay would have been better with a better AC situation. Kitchenette was good and spacious. The double/queen beds were okay. Bathroom was sufficient and seemed clean. Host at front desk was pleasant. Access to both waterparks with towels, was a plus, but the offsite one had a large area under construction. For the on site waterpark, the large hot tub was functional and well heated but some tiles missing on the pool wall. We used the pools in the evenings and the atmosphere seemed a little dingy or worn but the waters were a good temp and no complaints from the kid(s). The stay was good and we would consider staying here again."

"We paid up to get a newer cabin and it was worth it. Awesome location. Authentic log cabin. Nice to have a big fridge and microwave. Margaret at the front desk was so friendly and helpful!!!The cabins are great BUT you can tell that they arent being cleaned thoroughly and in time this newer cabin will seem dirty and in disrepair. There was some mold in the shower, and built up dust in all the cracks and corners of the cabin.Id also recommend they add either a coffee table or some other desk top as there arent many places to put your belongings down, especially after a day of shopping at the local stores."

"We stayed one night and the facility was great. AC worked. Clean. Great location to the Arnold Ferry. On Saturday, we had a front row seat on our \"porch\" to a great fireworks show. Please note though, that there are cabins and then rooms. We stayed in a room and not a cabin. Our room was fantastic, especially for the price."

"The hotel is in a beautiful location, on the beach of lake Huron with wonderful views. Directly next to the pier for the island ferry. Not far from the downtown area, had to drive. The room was nice but dated. When we arrived the microwave and refridgerator were not working, called the front desk and they replaced both appliances. Good coffee!"

"My stay at The Beach House was exactly what I needed.If you\'re looking for a luxury resort, this probably isn\'t your place. But if you\'re looking for a peaceful, charming lakeside cottage with character, beautiful gardens, and a manager who truly cares about his guests, you won\'t be disappointed.The cottages have a rustic, nostalgic feel that reminded me of simpler vacations from years gone by. That charm is part of what makes this place so special.One thing that immediately stood out was the incredible landscaping. Martin has obviously poured his heart into the property. The flowers are absolutely spectaculartowering hollyhocks, gorgeous roses, vibrant lilies, overflowing hanging baskets, and colorful blooms everywhere you look. It\'s clear that these gardens aren\'t maintained by obligation, but by someone who genuinely loves what he does.Unfortunately, my visit happened during the Canadian wildfire smoke, which obscured the beautiful views that Mackinaw City is known for. Even so, Martin went above and beyond to make sure my stay was enjoyable despite circumstances that were completely beyond anyone\'s control.Sitting on the beach in an Adirondack chair listening to the gentle waves of Lake Huron was still incredibly relaxing. Sometimes the simplest moments become the most memorable.If you appreciate genuine hospitality, beautiful gardens, and a place with heart rather than perfection, I highly recommend staying here. Thank you, Martin, for making my visit so welcoming. I hope to return under clear blue skies next time!"

"The room wasn\'t as nice as pictures indicated- there were some things broken, and it smelled a little funky. The refrigerator leaked. The AC was incredibly loud and blew directly onto one side of the bed so we had to turn it off at night so he wouldn\'t freeze and the noise wouldn\'t keep us awake.the view was nice though."

"The room was a little worn. The bed was a little firm for my taste. The bathroom and fixtures were very outdated. Lighting in the bathroom was awful. Updating the light would help, looked like a 70s throwback. The peeling wallpaper throughout the room was a turnoff. Also, we came during midge (little mosquito like bugs) season so we spent 30 minutes killing all of the ones in our room the first night. The floors were nice having been recently redone as well as the room furniture. The atmosphere was friendly and the location was perfect."

"My husband and I had a wonderful stay. The rooms are recently updated and very comfortable, but the real standout was our lakefront room. Stepping onto the balcony to views of the island and the bridge was worth the trip on its own. We\'ll absolutely be staying here again and highly recommend requesting a lakefront room."

"We liked the location and cost for the room. We were close enough to downtown to enjoy the shops, but still had privacy without feeling crowded in. The room was clean, but the furniture was outdated and the couch had seen better days. We enjoyed the pool and the staff was helpful and friendly. However, the room with the ice machine had tons of spider webs coming from the ceiling. Enough spiders to give anyone Arachnophobia. It needed a good cleaning. The hotel is pet friendly which is a bonus. We would stay here again. We did get waterpark passes, but did not use them."

"Location was easy to access and close to everything. Hotel is a little dated but honestly that fits the great price. If you are expecting luxury and amenities this isnt the place for you. That being said the room was clean, very well stocked, and very spacious. The pool was close by and not busy. The hotel was quiet. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again. If value and a solid place to stay are on your list this is the place. Beds appeared to be new. We had read some reviews about bugs and that was not a problem. There was absolutely no issue with our room at all. Everything was clean and functional."

"The Thunderbird was super! We really enjoyed the Jacuzzi! The floor probably couldve been cleaner, but everything else was super duper and it was so close to where we watched the fireworks on 4 July, which was our 15th wedding anniversary, and the shopping was so close on Central Avenue. The property was really nice! And the access from the local roads and the highway was upstanding! Parking was also great!"

"Comfy bed, great views, large room, balcony with two chairs, quiet, great water pressure in the shower- we had a great stay and would definitely stay again. We had room 25 upstairs facing the lake and the bridge. Only thing that couldve been better was the AC unit which was in the bathroom and struggled to keep up with the hot day. But we opened the windows at night and it was cool enough to sleep!"

"The hotel was fine but the most extraordinary thing was the lady on the reception. She was a great human being and helped me and my family immensely, in every way she could. Unfortunately doesn\'t her name but wanted to give a very big shout out for something specifically that she did for us. The room that I booked in this hotel was having just a queen bed which was a mistake to book and which understandably couldn\'t accommodate all my family (five persons, two adults and 3 kids). When I went inside and noticed how small it was I went back to her and informed that I didn\'t realize that the room would be so small for which she replied that she herself was surprised why I chose such a small room. I explained that it was my mistake and I didn\'t pay too much attention while I was making reservation. That nice lady without asking me upgraded to a bigger room and made this whole experience so awesome. Thanks to her."

"We were looking for a place to sleep. Not hang out in the room. It fit our needs perfectly. They are obviously remodeling and have not finished. At this point it just needs the finishing touches. Mirror in the bathroom & some shelves in there. Will definitely stay again!"

"This is not your luxury, 5 star motel, but a classic Mom and Pop. It is removed from the hustle and bustle of the congested area of Mackinaw City, which is part of the allure. It is an older facility, I have been coming for 30+ years. It is clean, and as week kept as an older place can be. The desk people are warm and friendly. The sheets were some of the best. There are chairs and lakeside campfires and the views are amazing."

"The Cabins are located within walking distance to shops and restaurants up and down the main thoroughfare. My friend and I chose one of the free-standing 2 bedroom/2 tv cabins as it provided privacy for both of us. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was well stocked.
