10 out of 10The hotel was clean, peaceful, close to the ferry and within walking distance of restaurants and other places of business in Mackinaw City. Also close to the water. The staff at the front desk were polite and cheerful, especially the gentleman who checked us in. We were given discount coupons for nearby restaurants. Check in and check out was an easy process as was making the reservation. The rooms were clean. There's a game room and pool/waterpark area. 8 out of 10We stayed at the Bayside inn hotel it was very nice they had updated all there rooms and had renovated the hotel by even putting in new carpet on there floors even in the hallway and you could smell the new paint. It was a very nice and refreshing place to stay everything was clean and nice. I would recommend this place for anyone to stay at. 6 out of 10Clean comfortable rooms. Allows pets, but needs to have a designated pet rooms area, shared with hotel staff. Someones pet was let out by hotel staff when cleaning. Because outside sliding doors were stuck open, dog escaped building but was found by local police. Poor dog was safely returned to owners, who were quite understandably upset. The ferry shuttle picked us up and returned us to the hotel for free. The main disappointment was the pool and spa area at the neighboring hotel which was available to use. The pool water was cloudy, and the spa jets did not work. The entire room had mold growing on the floors, walls and windows. Some complaints I have include the small TV, the dirty faucet in our bathroom, and the drain in the shower was REALLY dirty although you couldnt tell unless u put a washrag over it. Yes, thete a mini coffee pot in the motel room, which I would have had to use in the bathroom as the lights, phone,TV cable and clock took all available outlets. I didn't feel like walking to the nearest coffee shop when a lobby was right downstairs. When I walked in the lobby, there was nothing welcoming about it. Probably because any hotel Ive ever stayed in always had gift type items for sale , hot coffee, tea, or cocoa for guests. it was just stark kind of empty. Only furniture in the lobby. The room was way overpriced, but so are the majority of hotels in this area. No breakfast, which was disappointing.
