8 out of 10We thought we were getting a room with an stairs. It turned out we got a small cabin instead. Room needed an update, carpet was worn out, sink was slow to drain and was missing a plug. 8 out of 10We reserved a private cabin. It wasn't exactly what I expected. When we pulled in I thought it would be one that faced the water but it was behind those nice log cabins and it was a smaller cabin. But the cabin was clean, could have vacuumed a little closer to the bed and corners, shower was for a Hobbit, nice for me at 5 ft, but husbands is taller. We got a chuckle about that, but no maintenance issues. Good location, price was right, really no complaints.These comments are from a verified stay

On check out the same very pleasant receptionist gave me a gift with a code on it to look to see if I had one another vacation. The room was quiet and clean, the hot tub was hot. 10 out of 10The outside light was broken making it very dark to approach the cabin at night. There was not a smoke detector in the cabin and I needed to call maintenance for one. Maintenance was very quick to respond and hung a detector for us. The cabin was very clean and the beds were comfortable. 10 out of 10I always wanted to stay in one of the front cabins at Mackinaw at this motel complex, and I finally was able to do so. They are just adorable, from the knotty pine paneling to the great little pictures (and one gorgeous wall wood sculpt), to all the rustic furniture. The loft is wonderful and quiet, and in the morning the sun comes over Lake Michigan and shines through the triangle windows across from the loft. I arrived early, and my receptionist made a special trip out to the second cabin from the right to see if it was ready so I could have a great view of the lake across the street. The jacuzzi was the icing on the cake. They are pricey, but off season and with extra occupants not so bad--I would go back in a heartbeat regardless--and will.These comments are from a verified stay
