This is our 2nd year staying at this hotel. The rooms are very nice and clean. The staff is very nice and friendly. No problem to check out a little bit late. There are many tv channels to choose from and a free breakfast. The hotel is close to the ferries to Mackinac Island.

Rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Beach/lake access is sandy and well groomed with plenty of lounge chairs available for guests. This is why we have returned to stay at this specific hotel for 20 years.

When we booked the room online we requested a handicapped room. Unfortunately when we showed up to check in somehow it slipped through the cracks. The individuals at the front desk were very friendly and helpful, and got us into a room to fit our needs. The breakfast tasted great and the rooms were wonderful. Would highly recommend.

My family and I (a party of six) stayed for three nights at the Clarion. Everything was very nice. Loved having the two-rooms attached and a bed for everyone (instead of a pull-out sofa). Enjoyed the seats on the balcony for reading in the evening, as well as beachfront property! The complimentary breakfast was plentiful and well-run. Very nice from the eggs to the waffles (much better than most hotels). We even utilized the computers in the lobby to view pictures of a recent Alaskan vacation. Never used the pool or hot tub, but it looked clean and nice. Would definitely stay there again!

We had a wonderful time, our room was on the beachfront. We spent many hours setting on the balcony,watched the fireworks from there, perfect...Close to the boat ramp so we could walk. Our room was very clean and spaceous. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We where very impressed with the Clarion. We will go back when we revisit.

We were two people , and we rented a room two king beds with a sweet. In other hotels when you reat the same thing a sweet is a living area with Coach, TV, table and chairs. Here for two people we got the 2 king beds , and the sweet had another king bed, TV, and Table with chairs. The room was great! An improvement could be made on the continental breakfast by adding some fresh fruit and yogurt. Fruit cocktail does not appeal to most people. It was nice being able to walk over to the boat docks for the ferries.

Dave the Mgr was EXCELLENT. He went out of his way to ensure a great visit. Food great, location, great. The only cons...and I'm not nit-picking: rooms are dated & the help (besides Dave & the groundskeeper) are all foreign. How about hiring local American workers? These gals do not understand the culture, slang, etc and make many mistakes.

The front desk team and the cleaning team did a great job. The breakfast was nice and we appreciated the availability and the length of time it was open. Thanks! Overall - great hotel. We also like the opportunity to purchase our tickets prior to arriving and having them at the front desk. Though we did not have the correct tickets upon our arrival the front desk team had the correct tickets for us the next morning.

Our stay was pleasant. We appreciated the cleanliness of the room and the excellent maid service. The nice linens, plenty of pillows & towels and clean carpet offset the somewhat dated furnishings. The pool was clean with plenty of towels. The complimentary breakfast had a nice variety of good hot/cold foods. Our beach-side room had a terrific view so our room was more than just a place to sleep. Consider purchasing the tourist tickets package -- great value. Thank you for a great vacation - we'll be back.

The room was clean spacious and the staff were friendly. We loved the option of having adjoining rooms as we were traveling with a group and having the connecting rooms in the evening was fantastic. The only drawback was the loud refrigerator. Kicking on and off during the night woke me several times.

We enjoyed everything about the Clarion Hotel when we stayed there. The rooms where large and spacious. The bathroom area was quite large to with a fridge. I was expecting a mini fridge not the size that was in the room. The employees were very friendly. The breakfast area was very busy during the time it was open but the staff kept everything neat and filled. We will be staying there again.

The Clarion Hotel Beachfront is my favorite accomodation within the Straits area due to its first class accomodations, professional staff and incredible lakefront view. A fourth floor room with a view at sunrise or sunset is like having your own luxury condo on the beach.

We booked a room at the Clarion online, but the room wasn't available. It showed that it was available the whole time I was booking it. A few minutes later, a gentleman from the Clarion called me and told me it was already booked, and had found me another room at the Hamilton Inn Select and had negotiated the same rates for me. So, AWESOME customer service from the Clarion!! Might need to figure out the glitch in the online reservations though!
