The room was beautiful. The staff had to be the friendliest ggroup of people we have ever met. The breakfast was very delicious and had tons of choices. The pool areao was kept very clean and there were always towels there. We will definitely stay there on our next trip to Mackinaw!

There was a mixup with the suite I booked but the hotel was kind enough to give us an upgrade at a reduced rate. They were very helpful in letting us know what was available to do in the area and where we could get discounts. For a suite though, I felt it should have had a larger fridge and perhaps a larger common area.

We were impressed with the hotel itself and with the front desk staff, who provided us with extra coffee for our room and explained their efforts to clean up the midges (little insects) that had hatched a few days previous--just one of the issues that a beachfront hotel copes with in spring. Balcony over the beach was great, in spite of the midges.

The staff takes very good care of us. The rooms are clean and well lit. The beds are comfortable as our the pillows. If there is any problem with the room, it is taken care of immediately. The rms are some of the coziest we've stayed in. We stayed 3 nights, this time. Been at Clarions several times. It seems only fair that if you stay 3 night (the norm is one for travelers), that the hotel could give those staying (1) dinner voucher. Other suggestions: 1) a more complete DVD collection 2) the bathroom floors are very cold!

The hotel rooms were very clean, spacious and updated. The staff went out of their way to be helpful including recommendations on things to do, places to eat and excursions. And the view, well the view was amazing! We had reserved a lake view but we weren't prepared for literally being right on the beach and so close to the water. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others.

We had a lakefront room, so that in itself made the hotel outstanding! However, there were a couple things that caught our eye. On the day we checked in, there were piles of soiled linens on the walkway outside our room. These stayed there for the better part of the day, almost into the night. I don't know why they weren't taken care of at the time cleaning of the rooms was completed. The woman who checked us in at the front desk did not have a friendly, outgoing manner about her, something I have come to expect and appreciate when staying at a hotel. When I asked questions, she spoke quickly in short answers, and it was difficult to know what she was saying. The other woman at the desk, who was helping other customers, offered more in the way of conversation with me. However, a gentleman took care of me when checking out, and he was great. Very friendly and personable. Maybe the woman who checked me in was having a rough day.

The view was wonderful and the room was very nice and it was clean. The staff was wonderful. But we never had hot water in the shower. I said something to the lady who cleaned our room. It is no fun taking a shower when the water is at best barely warm. Other than that all was great.

I would have rated it OUTSTANDING if remote would have worked. The lake view was beautiful. The truck parade was fun. The breakfast was good, but it was a drag after driving from Minnesota to actually get up to change channels. The remote had tape holding it together. It is the little things that make a difference. We sure hope to be back. The overall experience was GREAT!!

We loved the lake view with an accessible balcony. The room was comfortable & clean & we appreciated the coffeemaker & bath amenities. The breakfast was good, although the location wasn't the most convenient. We had to go up or down stairs to acces the elevator or even to go to the breakfast. In the last year I'd had both hips & both knees replaced so stairs while carrying luggage is challenging. The stairs were a drawback, & the breakfast a bit of a journey otherwise it was ideal. I would likely come back.

We enjoyed our two day stay at the clarion. The staff were nice the room was excellent. The only thing I didn't like was the breakfast crowd. The first morning no buses, the line up was minimal. However the second morning there were two bus loads of people, the place war jammed at eight thirty. We skipped breakfast and left the hotel. Should three not be a notice or something telling guests that bus loads of people will be eating between say seven thirty and nine. Would we return? Maybe but not at that hotel.

We loved our stay in Mackinaw City and the Clarion Beachfront was a major part of it. We had a 1st floor beachfront room with balcony and hot tub. The room was very comfortable and laid out well. It was so relaxing to sip my morning coffee on the balcony and watch thee sun come up over lake Huron. We did a lot of sightseeing (walking) and a soak in the hot tub was a great way to relax back in our room. Our room was always immaculately clean and the entire staff was gracious and helpful. I am recommending it to all of my friends.

The hotel has outstanding value for Mackinaw City. We stayed at the Clarion last summer and was satisfied. The rooms are tidy and clean. We paid $20 more for a lake view room this year and it was worth it. The rooms are a little nicer and having the balcony was nice. A bonus was that the room came with passes to the water park across the street.

I asked for a lakefront room with balcony on the top floor, and for a great view. This was my first trip to the area. I was put on the fourth floor, and the view was wonderful. The room was oversized and bright...just lovely. The hotel and staff made this mini vacation one I'll remember for a long time. Would I come back...YES!!! Would I stay at the Clarion again..YES!!! Would I recommend the Clarion...YES!!! It was a perfect vacation. I enjoyed Mackinaw City and Mackinaw Island so much, and really look forward to a return trip.

This hotel was one of the cleanest I have stayed at! From the bathroom, to the balcony, it was immaculate! The only suggestion I have is to have some FRESH fruit on the breakfast bar. Otherwise, great breakfast, clean room, great stay! We will definitely be staying here again!

The rooms were clean and nicely furnished. We had access to the beach and to the pool and exercise room. However the pool was not open early enough for a morning swim before check out time to really be able to take advantage of it. The breakfast buffett was very adequate but we were glad that we are physically fit older seniors. We saw one couple struggle with climing the stairway to get to the buffet. I would go ther again. The bang for the buck was great.

Bad: wi-fi was sporadic. Wallpaper coming off in some areas. Foot traffic can see into room windows. Foot traffic is noisy. Good: Very comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Good cable channel selection. Nice access to beach. Nice pool area with extra towels available. Very good value for the price.
