Our second floor lakefront room was lovely. Breakfast was nicer than at most similar motels. The young lady at the front desk was extremely helpful with trolley and ferry tickets,which saved us both time and money. I would suggest that the gentleman that worked in the late afternoons be counseled about discussing personnel issues within earshot of guests. I did not want to know that the maid has a history of not changing the linens between guests who occupy the room! These issues should be dealt with but behind an office door!

We had planned to stay from Sunday to Thursday, but the girl accommodated us with a good weekend rate; so, we were able to stay 3 add'l days/nights. She also did her very best to see that we received the room that we requested and that was a Big plus to us! Every year that we plan to vacation in Mackinaw, we also plan to stay @ the Hamilton Inn Select. The rooms are very spacious and always clean! We really enjoy the Breakfast room as well; it's over-sized and when the breakfast time is over; you can just sit and relax, read, or whatever. The lady that works in the Breakfast room is Awesome! She makes sure there is plenty of food to eat and the coffee maker stays full; she cleans the tables right away after the guest leaves; she's just a very hard worker! The food is good too! but I would 'love' to have some fresh fruit but, other than that; it's well worth staying here. The hotel also has a very nice exercise room that we used daily and a swimming pool and whirlpool that we chose not to use this time, but it's a plus! We just enjoy our stay @ the Hamilton.

I made my reservation before I realized they didn't except pets. So I called them and explained my mistake and that our dog was a small chihuahua and house broke, they told me we could bring the dog as long as we were willing to pay a small fee. I was happy that I didn't have to look for another hotel. I had asked for a beach front room, which we got, but you weren't able to access the beach from the ground level balcony.

The Hotel was clean and the staff was very nice and cooperative. However the first night there were unruly guests on the fourth floor. Keeping us up after 1030 pm and prompting a call to the front desk. The desk staff immediately addressed the situation. Problem resolved and not repeated. The hotel breakfast was very good and well maintained.

It was clean. It was very quiet. There were over 200 high school band members staying there, we never would have known if we didn't run into them at breakfast! The breakfast was wonderful and they kept it warm and well stocked. Pool was nice. Staff was friendly. The lobby is beautiful! It was our children's first time in a hotel and they LOVED it! Thank you!

Absolutely loved our stay at the Hamilton Select! We gasped for joy when we entered our balcony room over the beach! The balcony room allowed us view the most beautiful sunrise we've ever seen! The room was very clean and the Mackinac area artwork was beautiful. The staff was extremely welcoming and very helpful! We arrived after a 13 drive and they gave us our second wind! The staff recommended a beautiful place to watch the sunset by the Mackinac Bridge and the Dixie Saloon restaurant with gorgeous wood beam architecture. The breakfast buffet was served in a large, lovely dining room. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel. The location on the beach and close to the tourist attractions was beyond perfect!

My wife and I were traveling to Mackinaw Island for a business conference I had on Monday May 1. We drove from Columbus OH to the Hamilton Inn to be closer to the port This hotel was the best part of the journey. The next day we went to the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island and what a major disappointment. Poor service/over inflated prices/ over all miserable. We would come back to Mackinaw City again and most likely will do that but never go to the island again.
