We so appreciated the chance to be in a suite-style room with our 3 adult children for our family vacation. The hotel was a few doors down from the ferry we rode to the island and within walking distance of the downtown shops and restaurants in Mackinaw City. It was a very convenient location. We splurged to have a lake-front room and enjoyed watching the ferries come and go. We also appreciated the clean room and full hot breakfast on site. Since our tickets for the ferry ride and the island horse-drawn carriage were purchased when the hotel reservation was made, that was one less thing we had to think about once we arrived (and it saved us some money on the purchase price, too). Our stay was brief and we were sorry that we had to leave to head onto our next destination so quickly. We hope to visit again sometime. :)

Room was very clean. Beds were good. View was great. Beach was a little small but never over crowded. However, the woman taking care of the breakfast buffet was extremely rude and ALOT of guests witnessed this, more than once. She was in contrast to other workers there, thankfully.

The location was perfect. Being so close to the water and town and Star line ferry was great. The room was big, even with two queen beds there was a lot of space. Having a balcony over looking the water was the best. The serve yourself breakfast was good, not great. The room was clean and everything worked, good hot water in the morning was a plus. If we come back to the area we would chose this hotel again.

The Hamilton Inn Select was clean, comfortable and close to everything. We loved our balcony room! Suggest that the breakfast be offered on the lake side part of the hotel so that all can enjoy the best view in the morning! Enjoyed the self parking and ability to go back and forth to the car. Plenty of towels and the room was always made up while we were out so that we were able to come back and rest before dinner. Will stay here again!

The view of the lake was great and the placement of the hotel was perfect. Room was great; only issue we saw was the draining in the bathroom was a little slow bc of all the sand from the beach. Definitely would recommend this hotel to friends and family though and had a wonderful time!

The staff at the front desk were very helpful, and the gentleman who helped us check in provided guidance, tips, and recommendations for food and entertainment, as well as resources for finding further information. There was also a mix up with the room we had reserved, but the staff had it resolved within a minute or two without any further hiccups. Great experience overall!

When we checked in we were told that the room we had reserved was under construction. They upgraded us to a bigger and better 2 room suite at no extra charge. The only down fall was that we wanted to be on the lake side but ended with a room on the courtyard side. this is the 2nd year in a row that we have stayed at this property and will stay here again when we travel this way again, and would recomend it to our friends.

Jodie who checked us in really knows her job. She was very personable and pleasant to talk to. The breakfast buffet was great!! The room was nice. You needed a small table and citronella candle if you wanted to sit on the balcony. The mosquitoes were bad!! There is only 2 chairs on the balcony. Nothing to put your drinks on.

This is a great place to stay as it is close to everything in Mackinaw City. Though our group didn't get a whole lot of time at the hotel itself I would recommend it and stay at it again. During our stay we also didn't have the best weather to enjoy the beach but that was part of the reason we choose the hotel. It was a great stay!

We normally stay here in the Fall of the year, for the past 15 + years, but last year our daughter graduated from law school and we went to N.C. so, we decided to make the trip in the spring and we just needed to rest and we truly did. The rooms were full due to the holiday and we were able to get a lakeside room and just enjoy seeing the water and hearing the waves and seeing the boats leave for the island and return to the city. We hope to be able to come back this Fall. We just enjoy our room and the breakfast room. We were able to take advantage of the exercise room this time.

We had a room with a balcony overlooking Lake Huron. The view was amazing. The close proximity of the ferry made everything so accessible and the discounts provided by the hotel for dining, ferry, and carriage rides were a definite plus.
