The desk helped us get a room to come in a night early. The room was nice, housekeeping did a great job and were also extremely nice. The breakfast was great. Catching the shuttle was easy, both leaving the motel and also coming back after a day at the island. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Our only down side to our visit was the Grand Buffet. I was concerned because of the numerous comments about unfriendly unprofessional employees, I did not encounter even one remote instance of this, on the contrary my experience was all of the employees were concerned with my stay being pleasant. The only negative was about the free breakfast, it is a good idea to bring a regular knife for cutting the food, in particular the waffles and pancakes, the plastic literally doesn't cut it. The pancake machine while ingenious, was lacking in pratical performance, putting out slowly only one pancake at a time. The room was clean throughout, no concerns there. Alway such a nice drive through Michigan. Mackinaw City is such a unique place..the weather was horrible, blowing a gale on Mothers Day but we managed a walk through your down town village. We were greeted cordially and asked if we wished to upgrade, which we did as it was off season. We would love to come back but under better circumstances and of course better weather. The staff was friendly. The rooms are large, they have storage to hang clothes, a tv, fridge in everyroom. the bathroom is large and plenty of counter space for multiple people to share. Beds and pillows are comfortable we sleep great. They serve a hot breakfast that has a variety of options so everyone is happy. We stayed 2 nights and then returned a week or so later when I had to come back to the area. I know the prices were low because of preseason but the regular prices are fair too.
