We come as a family of 5 rooms with grandkids and they have a blast in the pool and then we go upstairs to the breakfast room for pizza and gifts exchange. It had no stale or artificial cover-up type odors, and the beds were very comfortable. The halls were quiet and clean also. Nothing presented an impression of being stale. My wife said the coffee was very good, which never seems to be the case elsewhere. Usually we come during the summer months, however this year we came in October. The morning of our arrival we received a phone call confirming our arrival and were asked our arrival time. Upon our arrival we were given our room after going to our room, I decided that I would be more comfortable on the third floor. We went to the front desk and were moved without a problem. Breakfast was good as normal. We always seem to be taken care of when staying at the Hamilton Inn. A couple of years ago we were going to stay at another hotel in town, the "other" hotel was not what I expected so we went to the Hamilton Inn and they were able to get us a room and were able to give us a good price. The only thing that I think that needs to be updated would be the information books that are provided in the guest rooms. I visit Mackinaw City/ Island twice a year. The only thing about the hotel that I don't really like is that the cleaning woman pretty much take over the hall for the majority of the day.
