We stayed at the Mackinaw Beach & Bay for five nights in September and have stayed here for the last several years. We keep coming back because the rooms are spacious and always very clean, the housekeeping personnel are pleasant and the people at the front desk are always helpful and friendly. Although the free breakfast is the typical fare, it would be appreciated if fresh fruit and yogurt were also available. We'll definitely be back in September 2017!

Very pleasant and helpful staff. We loved the sunrise over the lake from our balcony. Our stay was extended due to an unexpected illness. She was not cleared to travel until a day later. Your staff worked with us to ensure we had our departure date extended and a room rate that was accommodating as well. Many thanks to the fine folks at the hotel.

Mackinaw Beach & Bay was a comfortable, clean, and convenient place to stay while we were in the area to visit the Island. The suite was spacious with a gorgeous view of the water and beach. My daughter enjoyed the pool very much, although the hot tub was dirty and full of sand. Someone did come to clean it one time while we were swimming though. Staff was polite and responsive. The breakfast left much to be desired in terms of quality, but pretty typical for a free hot hotel breakfast. I would definitely stay there again!

My cousin and I went for a 4 day getaway that was long overdue. The staff was friendly and accommodating from the time we walked thru the doors. The only disappointment is they are closing for the winter season and we will have to wait until spring for another visit.

The hotel was a great value in that it had 2 separate sleeping rooms. We were missing cups for our coffee. It was nice having a washer and dryer in the hotel, too. The staff were helpful in recommendations for eating.

Love the Big Rooms The Balconys facing the water are awesome. I Love laying in the bed with the window open listening to the waves crash against shore as I drift to sleep and also when I wake up. I also enjoy the balcony for my morning coffee watching the sunrise while everyone else is still sleeping. Very Peaceful. Staff are Polite & Housekeeping does a great job.

I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, location, view, and set up of the room. We did request a room not on the ground floor, but received a ground floor room. The room was very quiet though, which was the main concern. We will be returning!

We enjoyed our stay at Mackinaw Beach & Bay. 90% of the rooms are lakeside, which was amazing. We stayed in one of the balcony Suites with our 2 grown boys and had plenty of room. Pros: Clean Room, Easy to get to, gorgeous views, very helpful staff with lots of knowledge of the area, and willing to recommend site seeing activities. Cons: Decor is a little dated, TV's in the room could have been larger, lots of spiders and cobwebs on the balcony (which was immediately remedied by maintenance as soon as I called) Overall, great experience, would definitely consider visiting again.

Nice, spacious, clean, modern room with a nice deck featuring a great view of Lake Huron. Pool was nice too. Breakfast had several choices, only some of which provided temptation; sausage was undercooked. I'd stay there again, even though it's more of a short drive into town than a long walk.

Our suite was nice, clean and modern and overlooked the beach. The drain in our bathtub was slow, so I mentioned it at the desk in the morning and it was fixed by the time we returned in the afternoon. The manager at the front desk was there from early morning until evening and very friendly. He offered all sorts of advice and suggestions on things to do. We bought ferry tickets right there at the desk and the shuttle picked us up right at the door.

The staff, especially John, was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast had a good variety of choices and plenty available even late in the morning. The hotel was close enough to the ferry dock to walk to. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to my friends.

This was our third stay at this privately owned hotel. The suites are spacious, with two rooms plus a kitchenette with a coffee maker, small refrigerator, sink, and microwave. The rooms are immaculate and face the bay with a view of the bridge and shore. There is a sandy beach area with picnic tables, chairs, and fire pits. The free breakfast is ample. My only (small) suggestion would be to separate the waffles into their own station and maybe add one or two more waffle makers, since this is a very popular option. Hot sausage & eggs, gravy & biscuits, plus toasted items and a variety of cereals and juice plus canned fruit round out the menu. I highly recommend this hotel!

We really enjoyed our stay here, as the setting was beautiful. We loved having the beach front room, sitting on our little patio in the evenings and looking at the lake. Location was great - close to downtown, but yet just a little "off the beaten path" so that we had some peace and quiet. I would definitely consider staying there again on future visits to your beautiful city.
