THE LADY THAT COOKED FOR THE BREAKFAST BAR WAS ILL, BUT WE WERE ABLE TO USE THE MOTEL ACROSS THE STREET FOR CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST & EVERYONE WAS VERY FREINDLY. 8 out of 10Overall we had a very good experience at this hotel, the staff was excellent, our room was very clean as well as the other areas of the hotel. We loved the balcony/patio and the view.However, there was too much chlorine in the pool and hot tub, i understand the purpose of chlorine but this was unbearable, our eyes were burning and we had to get out and leave the area. I was also disappointed in the BIG price increase just because of the holiday/bridge walk. Also the price made it possible to stay two nights which we used to visit the island and also enjoy what the city had to offer.These comments are from a verified stay

10 out of 10Mackinaw Chamber We left for the island and fogot to close the moon roof on our suv. The hotel was unable to contact us when a heavy rain came. The hotel maintenance man built a roof over our suv and prevented serious damage. This was on top of good service and a very nice room. The staff of that hotel allowed our trip to be a delight. The only issue was that the people staying next to us were smoking on the balcony. The Lake-Facing room was great, and my two children enjoyed it very much. The elevator was a bit dated, and had a musty smell to it, but that is pretty minor. Same offerings each day though--would have been nice to change it up a bit. The outdoor whirlpool was not working--bummer! Location was terrific--within walking distance to everything. Ice machine on our floor was not working so we had to go to first floor each day--not a big thing but a bit of an inconvenience. Would stay there again.These comments are from a verified stay

The view from our balcony was ok but we were looking over the deck which had the hot tub and you could tell it hadn't been used in quite some time and there was actually moss growing on the carpet. I think the internet cafe was dial up and I was not able to access it the whole time we were there. The Beach was not nice at all and there were only a couple of loungers available even if you did want to sit on it. The breakfast was good and I can't remember exactly what was available but I do remember thinking I've had better. We did not use the indoor hot tub but it did not look appealing. Overall our visit was great and I would consider staying at this hotel again but these are just a few things I think you should be aware of.
