In the middle of these was a large bathroom and convenient wet bar area with microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. The room had recently been redone with new carpets and bedspreads. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. I give it only four stars, based on the fact that the breakfast didn't have a great deal of variety. We never went to the beach from the hotel but did not look super nice from the balcony. The pool was nice and fairly clean. The hotel staff was not super friendly but they were never rude. The owner/manager even went above and beyond to accommodate us when he realized I was given an initial reservation via the Chamber of Commerce portal when they were actually booked that weekend. He immediately called me at home and offered us two connecting rooms for the price of one and I gladly accepted. When we arrived we learned there had been a cancellation and we ended up with one room with a king and two queens -- still more than I originally thought I was getting! We like this place because we have adult children who travel with us and with the suite, they get their own bed and privacy. Wifi a bit slow, but we were the fastest room from the office so understandable! Will definitely stay here again! Great room for the price! 10 out of 10Although there was an electrical power outage just as we arrived for our pre-booked rooms, the receptionist, Mahalia Wright, was very calm and reassuring though the computers were down, and made sure we were comfortable with a drink of coffee while she and the manager worked on the problem. Our two families got upgrades to two suites. We were allowed to use the pool even though the pumps were not working. The rooms were above and beyond our expectations in cleanliness. 8 out of 10We went up for our anniversary. Was surprised that the room was big enough for our whole family. We have 4 small children and it is very difficult to find a room that will accommodate us. We will definitely be back with our children. Enjoyed the beach. The hot breakfast was a nice surprise. Beautiful rooms that look out on the beach in Lake Huron. There is really not a bad room as far as I'm concerned, The pool is nice and the breakfast is hot and good. My favorite is the belgium waffles you can make yourself! We took friends with us this time and they couldn't believe the price included all you got. The beds are somewhat separated which is great for traveling with our 1 year old. The pool was perfect temperature and the hot tub was very enjoyable.
