10 out of 10We loved Sunset Beach Motel. Our room overlooked Lake Huron and was on the first floor. It was beautifully remodeled and clean. Staff was very pleasant and helpful on the phone during my reservation process. We could see Mackinac Bridge lit up at night. And, we had a beautiful sunrise the next morning! Got great pictures. We are seriously thinking of coming back in 2026 to go over to Mackinac Island since we did not have time to do that. Mackinaw City was just one night stay on our way to Glacier National Park. The only thing which would be nice is if Sunset offered a continental breakfast. But, we realize not every establishment is set up to provide that. We always try to reserve hotels with a hot breakfast to eat & hit the road quickly! Thanks again for an awesome stay! We will highly recommend Sunset to any friends traveling from PA to upper MI & UP.These comments are from a verified stay

10 out of 10I love Sunrise Beach motel because it is quaint quiet and right by the water. When I was checking out I let the young man know my stay was wonderful. I just suggested they cleaned the cobwebs cuz my daughter and I we killed six spiders. They were a lot of cobwebs inside of the room around the door walls, the ceiling corners, the floor corners around the lights. I will still come back next year. 8 out of 102025 Road Construction alert! Highway 23 is undergoing major construction all summer long affecting all the motels South of the light. Noise is unbeleivable. We were lucky that night as they were a little North of us for the night.The Manager Zackary was very nice. Took care of a minor tv issue right away .We stayed next door in Bridgeview lake side unit just South in an upper room with a great view of the bridge. Nice quiet room just renovated. 8 out of 10We had one of the remodeled lake view rooms and loved it. Fitted sheets are not used so they place a flat sheet across top half of bed and then very soiled and stained mattress protector is left showing on bottom half of bed. I was not sleeping on that!! I went to office and he came to see what issue was. Very apologetic and informed me they dont use fitted sheets but did bring me extra sheets so I could cover the full mattress cover. Offered to find me a different mattress cover. Was there for 2 days and only had 1/2 role of toilet paper. I would stay here againThese comments are from a verified stay

8 out of 10I love this place. Off the beaten path, but close enough to the "action" (I'm not looking for action) Cozy, front desk staff is great! Every time I've been, its the same girl, I want to say Stacy is her name and she goes above and beyond! I had an updated room, Great shower. Only issue is screens on sliding doors, but it was cooler, so no mosquitos. Staff advised they will be working on replacing those. Their sliding doors need redone, chairs for outside need help, they could use a deep cleaning in the tub & toilet. There are a few things that could be improved. 1-towel racks and exhaust fan in bathroom (rm 133), 2-more electrical outlets or lamps or radio with charging ports, and 3-something for hangers.
