Good value. Great view of the lake. Very good breakfast buffet, lots of choice. This was an overnight stay on a long (16 hour) drive between Toronto and Minneapolis. Mackinaw City is about mid-way for us. The only minor issue with the hotel was the lack of accessible power plugs to use in the room. My wife and I each have a cpap for our sleep apnea and we had to move heavy furniture in the room so we could each plug in our CPAPs. Not a big deal, but it did show that the room isnt up to date for some travellers.

We had no prior reservation and were concerned about finding a room. My room had a hot tub as big as the king size bed in it!! This room also had a huge wide screen tv, refrigerator and comfortable table with two chairs. Room was more than adequate for my two days!

Best Western is our favorite motel - so close to everything and love the balconies on the lake side. We sit there often to read.Mackinaw City needs a covered shelter with clear curtains that can be lowered so visitors can bring chairs and sit and read or rest on cooler or rainy days. We especially love to sit at the Straits Park next to the bridge. We love to read, absorb scenery, and people watch.There's no place at the motel to do this either and the weather's not always perfect. Or at any other location in Mackinaw that we're aware of.

For the most part, the BW was a Good Place to stay! The cleaning staff was very Good & Friendly & did their jobs very well! Most employees were very friendly & courteous! The main desk staff were for the most part polite & friendly although one bad person can ruin the others because of that one person who is definitely not polite or mannerly & just really rude causing a stressful environment among other staff members! This person was this way more than one day so it wasnt just a one day thing! The last couple days when said person was not there, the rest of the staff were very nice & accommodating & had smiles on their faces & were pleasant to talk to & deal with!

The hotel could use some updates, also the outside could use painting. Location is GREAT, close to the ferry and shopping and restaurants. Another plus is Sheplers Ferry shuttle picks you up and drops you off at the hotel. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, so many wonderful fresh choices. The beds were comfortable too.

We had a first floor bay view room. The view especially the sunrise took our breath away! Loved that we could just walk out to the beach!Beds were comfortable! Enjoyed the hot tub after walking the bridge on Labor Day. Would stay here again.

We liked the location with it being on the beach and walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the ferry dock. The hotel itself was decent, a bit outdated in places like the lobby, pool, and gym but the rooms were ok. The staff was very helpful and accommodating of room service requests. The only thing I would say is the bed and pillows weren't very comfortable but comfort can often be subjective, plus I'm already having some back issues so other people may find the beds/pillows to be just fine. I also wish that the shampoo/conditioner bottles were easier to squeeze out of the container as the plastic felt a bit too hard. Plus the bottles were very small, almost too small to grip while in the shower. Overall, it's a very simple and basic hotel that gives you everything you need to enjoy a weekend in Mackinaw/Macinac.

From the woman who took my last-minute reservation over the phone, to the clerk that checked us in, to the staff who were cleaning the building and rooms, to the check out staff member, our stay was phenomenal! The best part was the cleanliness of our room and meeting the sweet Nickola who was responsible for our room. She takes her job seriously and wanted to ensure our comfort. What a lovely soul she is! Breakfast was also nice with many options to choose from. I found this hotel when my preferred hotel was booked full. Im so glad I did as this is now my preferred hotel and we loved room 319 and the view! Cannot wait to return!
