Loved the sand along the beach on Lake Huron. Could use some more cleaning service - the trash cans were full throughout the property at all times. I only saw housekeeping in the hallways during check out time each morning & they weren't around at all the rest of the day. We asked for more towels & toilet paper & no one ever showed up. We bought tickets for Mackinac Island through the hotel & lost some of them. The staff was very nice and tried to assist with all our requests! We liked being right next to the ferry dock, enjoyed both the pool and the lake for spare of the moment swimming as well as the waterparks for the kids. Hamilton Inn Select Beachfront Mackinaw CityHamilton Inn Select Beachfront Sharil from Butler stayed in June 2016We so appreciated the chance to be in a suite-style room with our 3 adult children for our family vacation. The hotel was a few doors down from the ferry we rode to the island and within walking distance of the downtown shops and restaurants in Mackinaw City. It was a very convenient location. We splurged to have a lake-front room and enjoyed watching the ferries come and go. We also appreciated the clean room and full hot breakfast on site. Since our tickets for the ferry ride and the island horse-drawn carriage were purchased when the hotel reservation was made, that was one less thing we had to think about once we arrived (and it saved us some money on the purchase price, too). Our stay was brief and we were sorry that we had to leave to head onto our next destination so quickly. Being so close to the water and town and Star line ferry was great. The room was big, even with two queen beds there was a lot of space. Having a balcony over looking the water was the best. We loved our balcony room! Suggest that the breakfast be offered on the lake side part of the hotel so that all can enjoy the best view in the morning! Enjoyed the self parking and ability to go back and forth to the car. Plenty of towels and the room was always made up while we were out so that we were able to come back and rest before dinner. They upgraded us to a bigger and better 2 room suite at no extra charge.
