We really enjoyed ourselves and the location was prefect. We parked at the hotel when we arrived and we didn't have to get in the car again until we left. Doesn't get much better than that! The only constructive feedback I'd have is, the wifi didn't work well. Breakfast was nicer than at most similar motels. The young lady at the front desk was extremely helpful with trolley and ferry tickets,which saved us both time and money. I would suggest that the gentleman that worked in the late afternoons be counseled about discussing personnel issues within earshot of guests. I did not want to know that the maid has a history of not changing the linens between guests who occupy the room! She also did her very best to see that we received the room that we requested and that was a Big plus to us! Every year that we plan to vacation in Mackinaw, we also plan to stay @ the Hamilton Inn Select. The rooms are very spacious and always clean! We really enjoy the Breakfast room as well; it's over-sized and when the breakfast time is over; you can just sit and relax, read, or whatever. The lady that works in the Breakfast room is Awesome! She makes sure there is plenty of food to eat and the coffee maker stays full; she cleans the tables right away after the guest leaves; she's just a very hard worker! The food is good too! but I would 'love' to have some fresh fruit but, other than that; it's well worth staying here. The hotel also has a very nice exercise room that we used daily and a swimming pool and whirlpool that we chose not to use this time, but it's a plus! So I called them and explained my mistake and that our dog was a small chihuahua and house broke, they told me we could bring the dog as long as we were willing to pay a small fee. I was happy that I didn't have to look for another hotel. We gasped for joy when we entered our balcony room over the beach! The balcony room allowed us view the most beautiful sunrise we've ever seen! The room was very clean and the Mackinac area artwork was beautiful. The staff was extremely welcoming and very helpful! We arrived after a 13 drive and they gave us our second wind! The staff recommended a beautiful place to watch the sunset by the Mackinac Bridge and the Dixie Saloon restaurant with gorgeous wood beam architecture. The breakfast buffet was served in a large, lovely dining room. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel.
