I will be returning next year and plan on staying at Best Western Plus Dockside Waterfront Hotel again. I will request a third floor room this time just so I can keep the doorwall open all night without the worry of someone getting in. Enjoyed the breakfast every morning and loved the size of the room. The room was clean and well kept, and we really enjoyed the balcony and beach. A couple of small things kept it from a 5-star rating. First, the wireless internet was very unstable. Not only was it slow, we were required to re-authenticate a lot, sometimes as often as every 15 minutes. We also found the desk staff to be less helpful than they could have been. We weren't given clear directions to the breakfast space when we checked in, leading us to nearly miss it our first morning. The internet password was neither given to us upon check in or posted in the room -- we had to call for it. Also the sink drained very slowly. I did not report it until we checked out so it wasn't a big problem but it was a little aggravating. Other wise everyone was helpful and courtious. Would stay there again if we could have a room with a view other than a wall. The Best Western-Dockside in Mackinaw City is always clean and has a friendly staff. I do wish that the Admiral's Table Restaurant was still open across the street from the hotel.
