The room was lovely and clean, clean, clean. And it was affordable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We plan to return next fall--maybe sooner! We found the room very clean and the staff very friendly and accomodating. The location was great, right next to one of the ferries going to Mackinac Island and easy walking distance to great shops and eating. The complimentary breakfast was great with make-your-own waffles and something for everyone. We had a beachfront room and spent alot of time with the door open listening to the waves. It was just not set up right. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room rates were right. But there was just something about the Hamilton that didn't sit right with us. Can't put my finger on it. It is a well placed clean motel. I can't knock it. But next time we plan to stay somewhere else. Please remember this...we are not knocking the place. It just didn't feel comfortable to us. The room was nicely decorated, clean and well attended. The rooms were relatively quiet. The vista from the room was outstanding. The free breakfast was superbly handled without need or request for any item(s). The staff were always pleasant and accommodating and that was not just the desk clerk/management.
