The staff was friendly. The breakfast in the morning wasn't the greatest so we ended up eating breakfast at restaurants for the remainder of our stay. My only real complaint about the room was the air conditioner was only in the one room and it was difficult to get the cool air all the way back to the second bedroom. Loved the sand along the beach on Lake Huron. Could use some more cleaning service - the trash cans were full throughout the property at all times. I only saw housekeeping in the hallways during check out time each morning & they weren't around at all the rest of the day. We asked for more towels & toilet paper & no one ever showed up. We bought tickets for Mackinac Island through the hotel & lost some of them. The hotel was a few doors down from the ferry we rode to the island and within walking distance of the downtown shops and restaurants in Mackinaw City. It was a very convenient location. We splurged to have a lake-front room and enjoyed watching the ferries come and go. We also appreciated the clean room and full hot breakfast on site. Since our tickets for the ferry ride and the island horse-drawn carriage were purchased when the hotel reservation was made, that was one less thing we had to think about once we arrived (and it saved us some money on the purchase price, too). Our stay was brief and we were sorry that we had to leave to head onto our next destination so quickly. We hope to visit again sometime. :)These comments are from a verified stay
