The view is tremendous. The hosts provided tremendous hospitality and the rates were pretty much lower than anywhere around. As a seasoned camper, I can make do with about any campground. Campsites too close together, unstable ground, unlevel, utilities not properly marked. Dump station was a joke! Got to our site very late, just wanting to sleep in our tent 1 night before moving north in the morning. Got in around 2 am, called the number on the sign next to the office. Man on the other end was rude and told us to just find a spot and come in in the morning. He and a huge unleashed dog showed up to our site in the darkness while we were setting up. Could not get dog to listen to him. A little alarming, but other than that we had a beautiful view of the Mackinac Bridge right next to the beach. Had a picnic table and fire ring. Views were beautiful. We were able to pick wherever we wanted to set up our tent. However your Mackinaw City listing needs to be updated as they do not have Yerts, and that is what we booked and we had trouble configuring the booking. It’s a somewhat primitive campground, which is what we prefer, yet water and electricity at the site, so we loved it. Dump station available. Camp host very helpful. Was able to get a pull through spot (RV newbie). However, he offered to help if only back in spots were available. The pool was great, showers were very nice and clean. Our campsite was beautiful and affordable. I will not stay at any campground in the area other than mackinaw mill creek! He goes out of his way to make children feel welcome and to entertain them. The campground is a special location we have enjoyed in the past.
