The sites are nice, management very accessible and friendly. The bathrooms were clean, however the trash could have been emptied more frequently. Only downside was booking through city of mackinaw did not get the same perks as staying at an actual hotel (as in advertised food discounts and Waterpark access). Suggest booking direct with Ronnie. The only complaints would be the cost of the firewood that wouldnt burn. $12. I found individuals selling firewood for much cheaper. The condition of the bathrooms could use an upgrade. Bathrooms were clean and firewood can be purchased right there. Just note, it's a smaller campground and there is no store on site. However, I was the one driving and when I checked in,the man (Ron?) was not very nice as he asked if I had gotten his text. Sorry, I didn't here my phone and don't answer when I'm driving. On Thursday 8-7-25 around 7am, he came to our site on his ebike and said "I'm not looking for an argument, but your tent is a little over the boundary for your site. We told him that we would move it, but he said no that's fine. Bathrooms looked like they needed some love and attention. It was beautiful to watch night fall across the lake and then open the tent in the morning to a view of the lake.These comments are from a verified stayDid you find this helpful?|First thing to mention is the manager Tom was awesome! We originally were told there was a shuttle, Tom let us no previous manager was wrong about this but he would help us out any way he could, he personally drove us in his pov to the ferry and made sure we returned safe and sound. Great sized lots and the tents were right on the waterfront. We enjoyed freighter watching, playing in the water and exploring the city. The people were friendly and helpful. The full stock of wood was great for fires. Bathrooms were awful however, extremely dirty and outdated. The view is wonderful! We were on the lake and had a front row view of the water. The bath house was OK, but it could use a good cleaning (cob webs) in the corners and on ceiling. But the views of the water and mighty Mac are wonderful. Not to mention the Manger Walt was more than generous. We had our wedding reception here. And he helped make our night every special.
