Stayed at the Hamilton Inn Select from July 13-17, 2004. Booked the room directly and got a great rate of $118 a night for a VIP room on the 3rd floor with a beachfront view! We arrived at around 6:30 p.m. from the airport. At first glance I couldn't even tell it was a hotel. No large neon sign exposing the facility. It was conveniently located between a ferry line and restaurants and several clothing stores. We were greeted by Danny and Karen at the front desk who showed us to our room. All during the week, other employees such as Shelly gave us good suggestions on where to eat and shop. The Hamilton Inn Select Beachside is conveniently located across from the Mackinaw Trolley and just a few hundred feet from the Mackinac Crossings. The Dixie Saloon is located down the road and has great margeritas! This hotel is definitely worth the money due to the location and the staff. A great hot breakfast is served from 7:00 to 10:30 each morning. Simply put, this is a great hotel for the location and the cost of the rooms! Our room had two queen beds beds with a large bathroom nicely decorated with real mahogany furniture. The room-length balcony overlooked the street and the beach. It was a very nice view of the lake and sunrises! If you plan on booking a room here, do so as soon as you can. This is a very nice hotel with little signs of wear and tear. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice place to stay while in Mackinaw City, MI.
