The Beach House Overview
Seven cottages sit directly on the beachfront the others back up in a U shape from the beach. Everyone staying at the Beach House has access to our private beach.
The Beach House is pet friendly (small pet fee) with 2 animals maximum. All hotel rooms in Michigan are non smoking. Smoking is permitted outdoors.

10 out of 10We had such a great time at The Beach House. We got the duplex and it was a great fit for us and our kids. The beach is literally in the backyard, you get a heated pool, and free day passes to the indoor water park next door. Everything was very clean and well managed. 8 out of 10The Beach house cabins were quaint and cozy, And had everything that we needed for our stay. I loved that they were pet friendly so we were able to bring our dog with us on our visit to the island and around town. The only reason I am rating 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the lack of information on the website for the beach house. I had to dig into FAQs on Google to find check-in and check-out times and this wasn't confirmed until we showed up. I also own a very large dog and did not find out that there is a weight limit of 50lbs on dogs until I arrived, though we were still allowed to stay. Additionally, there needs to be a better system for reservations over the winter. Although I booked on February, I was on a wait-list for the cabin I booked without my knowledge until the town opened in May. There was a chance we had to stay at the hotel, which again would have been completely fine, but could be avoided by investing in a more advanced reservation system that would be able to identify this, as it could cause issues with others in the future. Finally, though this is very minor, the brochure and information online states that there are muffins served in the morning for breakfast, but we were advised this ended 2-3 years ago. Again, information just needs to be updated on brochures and websites. Other than this, everything about our stay was wonderful. Our room didn’t have a microwave so we couldn’t enjoy our doggie bag snacks without getting dressed and walking all the way to the lobby. 10 out of 10Positives: Office staff were helpful and efficient. Cottage was old but clean and serviceable. The beach area was beautiful and only a few steps away. Quiet, except for road noise. Negatives: Coffee pot was broken (lid for water tank missing and lid for pot was not the right fit). Blankets and bed spread were really old, clean - but really, really old. 10 out of 10The beach house feels like old times, but it’s clean and redone nicely. The “family cabin” cabin 2 is excellent for a family or maybe two or three couples to stay. Bathroom is remodeled and the whole place was very clean. Martin at the front desk was so helpful and friendly. For being in a pandemic, it worked out that we were isolated from other people fairly well. Having individual cabins is so nice for privacy.These comments are from a verified stay
